Alex "OverDrive" Biryukov, a former Russian CS:GO player turned blogger, spoke to Natus Vincere G2A's Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko for Cybersport.ru.

Everyone remembers your conversation with Alexey "Elian" Gusev three years ago, when you called him a cheater. What can you say about him now?

My opinion of him hasn’t changed. I’m convinced he played with cheats. There are proofs in that video. Afterwards, my guys sat down and analyzed his demos; it’s obvious there. At any rate, there were players who used cheats in 1.6, too, and became pro gamers. Take Marcus Delpan Larsson, who admitted to playing with cheats himself. They have their useful sides: cheats help find out where the enemy is. After a certain number of games, you don’t need wallhack to know where enemies might be. If you’ve played with cheats, it doesn’t mean you’re a noob. Elian is probably playing without cheats now, but that time, I was sure he had illicit programs. He decided it would be horrible to confess to it. He must’ve worked himself up thinking it would result in some kind of tragedy. In fact, if he did confess, the worst that could happen would be us banning him from the tournament and telling him not to play this way again. He chose his path; that’s his personal business.
