Haven’t touched the game yet but from what I’ve seen of the MP5 in its current state, they will be dangerous on second round force buys if one player drops to another who buys armour.
— James Bardolph (@jamesbardolph) 16. August 2018
So it seems the MP5 on paper has worse moving accuracy, but does it have a tighter general spread? And if so, does it make the moving accuracy better in a physical comparison? That is the question.

The new MP5 has a place and should allow players to play uncommon angles and positions against eco rounds and when low on cash without necessarily being detected after the first kill or two. Also has fewer tracers which makes it harder to challenge the MP5 through smokes.

Braucht CS:GO wirklich diese Waffe?
Don't get me wrong I'm super happy and excited about the mp5.
— Jason O'Toole (@OnFireMoses) 16. August 2018
I'm also extremely nervous about the amount of time between now and the Major and having 1) players getting used to it and 2) having it appropriately tweaked and balanced so that it's not game/meta breaking
MP5 is a brilliant bit of social interaction and PR for a game that is heading into a major, but did the game really NEED it?

To everyone who are wondering why Valve don't fix longstanding issues in CS:GO, but are over the moon when they add a new SMG:
— Tomi (@tomi) 15. August 2018
You are the problem.
I actually cant believe people are getting excited about having another SMG
